We received a couple of weeks ago an email from an Irish e-magazine called Evoke, requesting us to publish a piece they made and since it is quite useful we agreed. Take a look at their introductory message and an infographic we should all be aware of:
What does fresh ginger and fresh garlic have in common? They are both foods that are easily found in the fresh produce aisle of your local store. These accessible foods are among the many foods that can kick-start your health and well-being journey, especially if you are or have been ill recently.
Fresh ginger increases your stomach acid production. This in turn helps to calm indigestion issues. It is always great for counteracting any food borne pathogens such as salmonella or listeria for example. Fresh garlic assists with blocked sinuses and sinus related issues, perfect in the colder months when sinus issues can act up.
Like ginger, garlic can counteract pathogens as well as bacteria, fungus and viruses, but without damaging any of the beneficial gut flora that is present in our bodies.
Prescription antibiotics have been the medical answer to a whole host of common ailments since the 1940s but the body can build up antibiotic resistance. Choosing natural foods instead can alleviate this. For more, have a look at this informative infographic created by Evoke.ie:
