Our friends at the organization Jóvenes Sembrando Esperanza por México invited us to participate in a project called “Un día sin hambre en la Ciudad de México” (A Day Without Hunger in Mexico City).
The proyect is about collecting food like fruits, bread, juices, cereals, canned food, blankets, clothes and personal care products and put them in packages.
Once the packages are ready we deliver them to homeless people that are located in different spots of Mexico City that have a high amount of people living in these conditions such as Bellas Artes, Reforma, Mexico City’s Central Park, etc.
We usually deliver the packages on Sunday during different times througout the year, mostly according to the clothes and/or food we have collected so far.
The project’s intention is to give homeless people the chance to eat well and get something to have a happy day. We also try to encourage people’s participation in a social project, to sensitize participants and to stimulate solidarity between the city’s inhabitants.
If you would like to contribute with donations or to participate in the deliveries do not hesitate to contact us through any of our social networks or by sending an email to info@summundus.org or sembrandoespmex@gmail.com and we will provide you all the information you need.
Take a look at some of the pictures:
